Richard Bateson joins Valere Capital

April 2013 - Richard Bateson joins Valere Capital as a consultant.

Richard has over 18 years of front office experience in finance, spanning derivatives, fixed income, credit, equities, and hedge funds. Over the last two years he worked as portfolio manager and CIO for the Dimension, Genesis and Evoltion funds, a series of multi-strategy systematic global macro funds at Man Group. During the same period, he was also a research committee member and Associate at the Oxford-Man Institute at Oxford University. From 2003 to 2009, he was a Director and co-founder of Man Galileo Investment Management, a corporate event-driven and relative value hedge fund where he traded extensively equities, high yield and investment grade bonds, loans and credit default swaps across Europe, Asia, and the U.S. From 2000 to 2003, Richard was a Managing Director at Royal Bank of Canada where he traded structured credit, - and structured finance products. From 1994 to 2000, Richard held various positions in credit, - and equity derivatives trading at Credit Lyonnais, General Re Financial Products and Mizuho Bank. Richard holds a Doctorate in Physics from Cambridge University.
