
April 2009 - Mark Preston, the former joint Head of Corporate Markets at Lloyds TSB, has joined Valere Capital as a Principal. Mr Preston joins the two other principals , Josh Danziger and Jean Dulude, and Neil Taylor who is a partner.
Mr Preston left Lloyds TSB prior to the HBOS acquisition being contemplated, and has spent his gardening leave pursuing his interest in microfinance in Africa. At Lloyds, he was responsible, with a partner, for the corporate, institutional, trading room and funding activities of the Group, and was CEO of its Products and Markets division. He was a member of the banks senior credit committee and Group Asset and Liability committee, amongst other responsibilities.
He has been involved in financial markets since the mid 1980’s, and has been actively involved in developing, trading and managing a wide variety of financial activities in that time.
Mr Preston said, “I am very attracted to the idea of working with a small, excellent and experienced team, and very much look forward to doing what I enjoy doing most: working with clients to understand their issues and helping them to make the best decisions. I am also gratified to be joining colleagues who share my vision of the financial sector taking a broader view of their social and ethical responsibilities”
