Jean Dulude has 18 years of derivatives experience.  Before co-founding Valere Capital in 2008, he was co-head of Global Structured Credit at RBC.  He oversaw all structured credit activities at RBC which comprised of 4 businesses:  CDS prop trading, correlation trading and structuring, cash CDO origination and structuring, and RBC Principal Finance.  In addition, quantitative/development and repackaging support functions reported into the business.  In 2003, Jean Dulude spearheaded the creation of RBC Principal Finance.  It comprised of 9 analysts/portfolio managers.  Its mandate was threefold:  First, it strived to establish itself as a credible CDO manager.  Three CDO transactions totaling $5bn were successfully launched from 2005 to 2007.   Second, it established an ABS negative basis book and leverage loan TRS book.  These books grew to $5.5bn over 3 years.  Finally, it prop traded highly rated ABS securities and senior tranches of indices. From 2000 to 2003, Jean Dulude ran the correlation platform at RBC with Josh Danziger.  From 1989 to 2000, Jean Dulude held various marketing and structuring positions in Canada and the UK in RBC’s FI derivatives area. He holds two Masters degrees in Economics and in Finance from University of Montreal and HEC, Montreal.
