Mark Preston has spent nearly 25 years in the banking world, with a broad experience base. He spent the early part of his career as a derivatives trader,  helping to develop the market from its formative stage in the mid 80’s. He was head of derivatives trading in Europe at Chemical bank, where he developed the trading  platform to  encompass both clients flow trading needs and also more structured requirements, when he moved to CIBC in 1994 to set up and manage a new derivatives capability in Europe. In 1999 he was appointing CEO of Europe for CIBC, when he directly managed CIBC’s investment banking unit. In 2004 he moved to Lloyds TSB, where he was Co-Head of Corporate markets, having responsibility for Lloyds TSB’s products and markets,  which included funding and liquidity. He sat on the banks senior credit committee and Group ALCO., as well as the management committee of the wholesale bank. He left Lloyds TSB in 2008, before the acquisition of HBOS. He has spent an increasing amount of time since then being actively involved in Micro Finance in Africa. Mark holds a BA in Economics and Accounting  from University of Kent at Canterbury and qualified as a an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in 1985.
