Paul is a senior FX professional with over 37 years of experience trading spot FX. His career started at Barclays Bank in Johannesburg where he was the senior Rand trader. From 1986 to 1988, he was the Chief Dealer at Trust Bank (Absa) in Hong Kong and then in London, where he oversaw the trading desks which quoted spot and forward Rand, Sterling and Yen. In 1988, he rejoined Barclays in San Francisco where he was the head of an eight person FX trading team. From 1989, he moved to New York with Barclays to take charge of all Sterling and Deutsch Mark FX trading. From 1993 to 2002, Paul relocated to London with Barclays and joined the Emerging Markets trading desk to trade South African and other EM currencies. In 2002, Paul moved to Standard Chartered Bank in London where he was responsible for trading Rand and EM currencies. More specifically, in addition to Rand trading, he was also responsible for trading Turkish, Eastern European and Far Eastern currencies. In 2011, Paul became the Senior Trader - Global Currencies at INTLF FCStone where he was responsible for the market making of 150 currencies to customers that included international aid and development organizations, UN agencies, NGO’s, multinational corporations and financial institutions.
